About Shilan
It all began with the recorder in primary school. Later Shilan moved on to playing the guitar to accompany her singing and to be able to write her own songs. She began to sing in bands during her school years. The first studio-recording took place in 2000 in Namibia, where Shilan sang the backing vocals on Arcana XXII’s album Barren Land.
Back in Germany she became singer of the band Neardown and can be heard on their first album. After that she left the band and focused on learning new instruments and writing her own music. In 2005 she met the hang – it was love at first sound. With the hang and her voice Shilan started her solo project for which she also recorded her first own album.
Still, the hunt for magical melodies continues and more instruments have entered her life like the harp, the hammered dulcimer, the monochord and the irish bouzouki. This quest for new and old sounds will probably never end. With her instruments and voice, she has performed on various occasions and with different projects and musicians. She is also a member of the band Keldar which was formed together with her friend Kathrin.
Creativity makes the world go round.
